  34. Hi everyone.  I was looking for info on the above radios.  What I'm
  35. looking for is descriptions, parts, general feelings on them.  I have
  36. someone who wants to sell them to me, and I want to know things as
  37. prices for crystals, PL reeds, mics, etc.

  39. Any information should be sent thru email, as I don't get to the newsnet
  40. nearly as often.

  100. All of them are superb radios.  
  101.  
  102. The Yaesu FT-530 has the *most* "bells and whistles".
  103. That is, it has the most features and can be quite complex
  104. and overwhelming.  
  105.  
  106. The DJ-580 and TH-78 are also excellent radios, but less techie.
  107. However, I personally believe the TH-78 looks the neatest
  108. out of the bunch.  
  109.  
  110. I prefer the Yaesu and Kenwood over the Alinco, due to the fact
  111. that with all Alinco products I've seen(HT concerned), the
  112. dials/knobs are a bit flimsy, and look like they're about to 
  113. pop off at any second.
  114.  
  115. All of them are priced almost the same, around $400 U.S. dollars,
  116. give or take $20.
